Bears

I’ve been collecting bear sculptures and images since 1986 and have about 150 in my collection. Most of these are made by indigenous people, primarily from North America. According to Zuni mythology, the Bear is the Guardian of the West, represents great strength and courage, and has the power to heal and transform human passions into true wisdom. In Inuit art, transformational works represent the ability of animal and human spirits to move about and inhabit each other’s bodies.
